The House of Dogs Pet Photography

Discover The House of Dogs Pet Photography, a name that speaks volumes about who we are. Founded by Daniel Arnaldi, the acclaimed Australian photographer known for his distinctive portraiture, who is not only a photographer, but also as a storyteller and craftsman. The name The House of Dogs was inspired by Daniel’s two beloved Kelpies.

For over thirty years, Daniel has brought a passion for photography together with a lifelong love of animals to achieve something truly special, pet portraits that are crafted with intention and artistry.

Our philosophy? Pets are family. We approach every session by working with your pet’s natural personality, never forcing them into unnatural poses. The result? Authentic, heartfelt portraits that genuinely reveal who they are, whether young and restless or calm and contemplative, and it does not have to be just about your fur babies. The whole family can take part, in fact we encourage it, after all you are all family.

Flexible Session options

Our studio sessions are conducted in our pet-friendly, climate-controlled space, these sessions allow pets to settle in at their own pace. It is perfect for pets who may be shy, off-leash, or affected by the weather. Sessions typically run for sixty to ninety minutes and can be extended at no extra charge if you would like to include more furry family members.

We also offer On-Location Portraits if you prefer a portrait in your backyard or a rustic outdoor setting. We can come to your place or welcome you to ours. These sessions are fully custom and highly creative, blending environment and emotion to make your portrait unique.

Celebrating Beauty in Every Form

We believe every animal is inherently beautiful, no costumes needed. As a photographer with over thirty years’ experience Daniel has truly mastered his craft, “I use light as a painter uses paint,” he says. “It’s not enough to light something, you have to select the right light and apply it in the right way to truly bring out the beauty of your subject.” His portrait work has been recognised in some of the most prestigious galleries in Australia including the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.
